The City of North Richland Hills stakes claim to Adventure World, the largest park in Texas designed for inclusive play. In 2016, park planners with the City of North Richland Hills contacted Playground Shade Structures about a heated problem that other shade companies couldn’t handle. Like many un-shaded playgrounds, the slides at Adventure World could become too hot for the children to play on during hot, sunny days. Adventure World and Playground Shade Structures worked together to come up with a very cool custom solution. Drawing upon the playground’s existing treehouse theme, the Playground Shade Structures team designed a series of custom shade structures that combined playful purples with different hues of green that mimicked both the look and feel of natural tree shade. The result was a fabric shade system that beautifully reflected the natural aesthetics of the park’s treehouse theme while shading the playground’s slides and protecting visitors from the blazing heat of the Texas sun.
